Happy mystery Monday sleuths! I am so excited to share this cozy with all of you! I reached out to Kensington Publishing Corp and requested several books including Jealousy Filled Donuts by Ginger Bolton and it showed up in my mailbox over the weekend! So thank you to Larissa at Kensington for sending me this new cozy that is set to release on August 27, 2019.
Jealousy Filled Donuts is the third book of the Deputy Donut Mystery series and it sounds like it is going to be a great one!
Synopsis: “It is a truth universally acknowledged–cops and donuts go together. Exhibit A: Deputy Donut Caf, owned and operated by detective’s widow Emily Westhill and her father-in-law, the retired police chief of Fallingbrook, Wisconsin. Named after Emily’s adored and adorable tabby, the donut shop is a favorite among cops, firemen, and EMTs, as well as tourists and townspeople. So when Fallingbrook needs donuts for their Fourth of July picnic, Emily’s shop gets deputized.
But a twisted killer has found another use for Emily’s treats. At the picnic, a firecracker is hidden in a stack of raspberry-filled donuts and aimed at the unwitting queen of the festivities. When it explodes, she is killed. Having her jelly donuts involved puts Emily in a sticky situation, and when a shady shutterbug tries to frame her with incriminating photos, she finds herself in quite a jam. To preserve her freedom and her shop’s reputation, Emily needs to solve this case–before the fuse-lighting felon goes off again …”

Happy Monday bookworms! How was your weekend? My weekend was very relaxing as I spent it in the mountains of West Virginia. We had a day of snow and a day of sunshine, it was absolutely perfect! I am glad to be home though and I am already dreaming of the weekend.
Today I coming to you with our first official Mystery Monday post! I want to talk about my top five favorite sleuths, but first what exactly is a sleuth? According to Merriam-Webster it is to act as a detective. Cozy mysteries are always filled with an awesome sleuth who just cannot seem to stay out of the investigations going on in their towns. It is always fun to follow each of these sleuths as they try and crack the case before the town Detective! So here are my top 5 sleuths!
- Lacy “Pink,” Pinkerton from the Port Danby Series by London Lovett
- Jules Capshaw from the Bakeshop Mysteries Series by Ellie Alexander
- Sunni Taylor from the Firefly Junction Series by London Lovett
- Julia South from the Peridale Cafe Mystery series by Agatha Frost
- Nora Pennington from the Secret, Book, & Scone Society series by Ellery Adams

Happy Mystery Monday friends! I wanted to start this new series where we dive into some mystery goodness. My main focus will be Cozy Mysteries, but I will make sure to touch base with other types of mysteries and maybe even some thrillers!
In the middle of last year I read my first cozy and it is what got me to dive back into reading. They are so fun, but still keep you on your toes. For those of you who are not into gore, but love a good mystery..this subgenre is made for you! What I love most about cozies is that you truly form a connection with the characters and feel as if they are some of your best friends.
I am looking forward to getting this series going and hope that you will find a love for all things mystery!
Join me next week for the first official Mystery Monday post!
