Happy Wednesday bookworms! We are almost done with the week and I am ready for some down time with a good cup of joe and a book! I have been so pleased with how many books I have read this month and know that I will finish the month out with a bang! I have continued on with Cozy Mystery March, but have added in a couple of non-mystery books to my list. This particular week I am reading
On Thin Icing by Ellie Alexander- I am about 50% done with this one and have truly loved this series so far!
Daisy Jones & The Six by Taylor Jenkins Reid- This was my Book of the Month pick and IT.IS.SO.GOOD!!!
Deadly News by Jody Holford- Another cozy mystery series I am starting. I have an eARC of the second book of the series so I am hoping to finish this first novel in the next day or so.
Lemonade and Lies by Agatha Frost- I just finished the first book of the Peridale Cafe Mystery series and it was so so so good, so I am excited to dive into this second novel.
How is your month going? What has been your favorite book you have read so far?
Happy Thursday bookworms! Today is my Friday and I am heading straight to West Virginia after work to visit some family. This week has been a great reading week for me and I should be finishing up three more books within the next 2 days. This week I have read/ am reading:
A Killer Bridal Party by London Lovett
Meet Your Baker by Ellie Alexander
Pancakes and Corpses by Agatha Frost
Murder on Lot B by London Lovett
A Batter of Life and Death by Ellie Alexander.
It has been such a fun reading week and cannot wait to continue on with Cozy Mystery March! What have you read this week? Let me know down below!
Happy Thursday friends! Can you believe we are already done with February? I mean where does time go? This was a pretty good reading month for me, but fell flat the last full week of the month being that I was sick. I was able to complete seven books which puts me right on track for my yearly goal!
Mistletoe and Mayhem: I started this in January and was able to finish it within the first week of the February. I absolutely adore London Lovett’s novels so this was a fun read for me!
A Girl Like Her: This was the Dragons and Tea Book Club February read. This was way better than I thought it would be and was so smitten by the romance in this novel.
Forever Winter: This was a classic Alexa Riley book and was filled with some steamy romance.
The Girl He Used to Know: This was hands down my favorite read of the month! This ARC was provided via St.Martins Press. This novel was everything and left me in tears. Everyone needs to read this! My review can be found here.
Truth or Beard: I listened to the audio version of this book and loved it! I always enjoy Penny Reid’s writing and this did not disappoint. My Review can be found here.
Happy Monday friends, it has been quite some time! I was so sick the last week and could not get the energy to create content let alone read. I even had to cancel my trip to West Virginia which was a bummer, but hopefully I can go in the next couple of weeks! I was hoping to complete three books last week, but was only able to finish Waisted by Randy Susan Meyers. My review for this book will be up in the next couple of days! As for this week, I am hoping to complete two books and start a third! The books I will be reading are:
Happy Tuesday friends! Today is my first day back to work after a four day weekend and let me tell you, it always hard to wake up at 5 in the morning after such a long weekend. Thankfully, I only work three days and then I will be spending my weekend in West Virginia visiting some family. Any good audio book recommendations? Comment down below please! For now, I am going to be giving you my top 10 books that I loved and has fewer than 2000 ratings on Goodreads!
The Girl He Used to Know by Tracey Garvis Graves (1014)
Marigolds and Murder by London Lovett (1426)
Carnations and Chaos by London Lovett (247)
Mistletoe and Mayhem by London Lovett
Last Christmas by Talli Roland (248)
The Legend of the Golden Raven (276)
Inside Deaf Culture by Carol Padden & Tom Humphries (320)
Death in the Park by London Lovett (123)
The Oak Inside the Acorn by Max Lucado (456)
I don’t know if you can tell, but I kinda like London Lovett’s books! You may also notice that there are only nine books, that is because those were the only ones that I had on my “read” shelf that had 2000 or less Goodreads ratings. Have you read any of these books? What is your top book that has less than 2000 ratings?
Hey hey! This particular Top Ten Tuesday was supposed to be upcoming releases I’m on the fence about; however, it was too hard to decide so I am changing it up this week! There are so many upcoming books that I am excited about this year so I thought this topic would be the better option for me. My top ten includes:
Happy Monday friends! Hope all of you had a great weekend. My weekend was spent with my boyfriend and our pups. We got a lot of snow on Friday so we pretty much stayed in our cozy apartment most of the weekend. Now I am back at work and ready to take on the week! I will be reading through 4 books this week.
3. Truth or Beard by Penny Reid: I am listening to the audiobook of this and so far it is way too good! Penny Reid is a pro at romance novels.
4. The One Who’s Not the One by Keris Stainton: I was provided the eARC of this book via netgalley and Bookouture in exchange for an honest review. I am about 4 chapters in and so far I am loving it. Its funny, witty, and sassy!
Hey friends! I am so excited to begin this month because I have so many great books to read. Being that it is the month of love, I will be reading primarily from the romance genre….let’s be honest though, romance is my favorite genre to read! I am hoping to make it through all six books, but we will see what the month brings! Tell me, what do you plan to read this month?
Hey friends! Can you believe we are already done with January? It was a very good reading month for me. Last year was a rough year for reading so I was pleased to start off the year with reading 6 books.
The Wicker King:This was my first read of 2019 and the January pick for the Dragons & Tea book club This book is filled with so many emotions! It makes you laugh, it makes you cry, it makes you frustrated, and every other emotion that is out there. It follows two friends who love each other so much, but tend to depend on one another too much due to the lack of parental guidance. Jack deals with hallucinations and August sinks deeper and deeper as Jack explains the things he sees during his hallucinations. August gets sucked in so much, he joins jack in burning a down a building which leads them into spending time an asylum.
The Legend of the Golden Raven:This is the companion novella to The Wicker King. I truly enjoyed reading this because it follows Jacks perspective of the story, but I wanted so much more. I wanted it to a go a little deeper into what exactly was going through his mind beyond what we read during the previous novel. I also wished it gave more background into Jacks relationship with his parents.
The Wisdom of Sally Red Shoes: I was provided the eARC of this book via netgalley in exchange for an honest review. This novel follows three different women as they work through their stages of grief. I believe Ruth Hogan painted a beautiful picture of grief. However, as much I wanted to love this book, it lost my attention more than I would have liked.
Seven Places Without You: Seven Places Without You is a graphic novel following a young woman named Elena who is going through a transitional phase in her relationship with her boyfriend Jorge. The only thing she can do is move out and start a life of her own. I really enjoyed this graphic novel.
Rosie’s Travelling Tea Shop: This was my favorite book I read during the month of January! It follows a woman named Rosie who is going through a divorce all while embarking on a journey of living a nomadic life. It was a fun read and you can find my review here: Rosies I was provided the eARC of this book in exchange for an honest review via Netgalley. This is set to release March 03,2019.
Mistletoe and Murder: I began reading this in January, but am still reading it. I always enjoy reading London Lovett’s books! Will write more in a future post!
Well there you have it, my January wrap up! How many books did you read last month?
