My BOTM Pick: August 2019

img_0043

Happy Friday my fellow bookworms! We made it to the end of the week and it is now time to soak up some sunshine and relax! This weekend I will be diving into Well Met by Jen Deluca which also happens to be my August Book of the Month pick! I have been seeing this book ALL over #bookstagram and I am so glad to now have it in my possession! What makes it even more special is that this book is not set to release until September 3rd! Not sure what this book is? Well here is a little synopsis from goodreads.
All’s faire in love and war for two sworn enemies who indulge in a harmless flirtation in a laugh-out-loud rom-com from debut author, Jen DeLuca.

Emily knew there would be strings attached when she relocated to the small town of Willow Creek, Maryland, for the summer to help her sister recover from an accident, but who could anticipate getting roped into volunteering for the local Renaissance Faire alongside her teenaged niece? Or that the irritating and inscrutable schoolteacher in charge of the volunteers would be so annoying that she finds it impossible to stop thinking about him?

The faire is Simon’s family legacy and from the start he makes clear he doesn’t have time for Emily’s lighthearted approach to life, her oddball Shakespeare conspiracy theories, or her endless suggestions for new acts to shake things up. Yet on the faire grounds he becomes a different person, flirting freely with Emily when she’s in her revealing wench’s costume. But is this attraction real, or just part of the characters they’re portraying?

This summer was only ever supposed to be a pit stop on the way to somewhere else for Emily, but soon she can’t seem to shake the fantasy of establishing something more with Simon, or a permanent home of her own in Willow Creek.

Does this sound like a book that you will pick up on release day? Let me know what you think in the comments!

xoxo,

Nicole

What I’m Reading 03.13.19

Happy Wednesday bookworms! We are almost done with the week and I am ready for some down time with a good cup of joe and a book! I have been so pleased with how many books I have read this month and know that I will finish the month out with a bang! I have continued on with Cozy Mystery March, but have added in a couple of non-mystery books to my list. This particular week I am reading

  1. On Thin Icing by Ellie Alexander- I am about 50% done with this one and have truly loved this series so far!
  2. Daisy Jones & The Six by Taylor Jenkins Reid- This was my Book of the Month pick and IT.IS.SO.GOOD!!!
  3. Deadly News by Jody Holford- Another cozy mystery series I am starting. I have an eARC of the second book of the series so I am hoping to finish this first novel in the next day or so.
  4. Lemonade and Lies by Agatha Frost- I just finished the first book of the Peridale Cafe Mystery series and it was so so so good, so I am excited to dive into this second novel.

How is your month going? What has been your favorite book you have read so far?

Mystery Monday 03.04.19

Happy Mystery Monday friends! I wanted to start this new series where we dive into some mystery goodness. My main focus will be Cozy Mysteries, but I will make sure to touch base with other types of mysteries and maybe even some thrillers!

In the middle of last year I read my first cozy and it is what got me to dive back into reading. They are so fun, but still keep you on your toes. For those of you who are not into gore, but love a good mystery..this subgenre is made for you! What I love most about cozies is that you truly form a connection with the characters and feel as if they are some of your best friends.

I am looking forward to getting this series going and hope that you will find a love for all things mystery!

Join me next week for the first official Mystery Monday post!

xoxo,

Nicole
